At Qizie, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our web platform and mobile application. Our goal is to provide a seamless AI-powered learning experience while respecting your personal data.
1. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)
Qizie is intended for a general audience. To comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR, we enforce the following age requirements:
- United States: Users must be at least 13 years old.
- European Union: Users must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in their specific country).
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under these ages. If we discover that a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete it from our servers immediately.
2. Information We Collect
Personal Information
- Account Details: Username and secured password.
- Contact Info: Email address (used for recovery and updates).
- Identity: Apple User ID (if using Apple Sign In).
- Financial Data: We do not collect or store your credit card or payment information. All in-app purchases are handled securely by Apple. We only receive transaction receipts and identifiers to verify and fulfill your purchases.
- Virtual Currency Balance: Your Qizie Points (QP) balance and ledger of how it was earned or spent within the app.
Usage & Technical Data
- Activity: Quiz history, selected answers, time taken, journey progress, mastery levels, and streak progress.
- Location Data (Coarse): Timezone and Locale identifiers for scheduling local notifications and personalizing the experience.
- Diagnostics: Performance logs and crash reports (via Firebase) to improve app stability.
- Device Tokens: FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) tokens for push notifications.
- UGC/Reports: Feedback provided through the "Report Question" feature, plus the username and avatar you choose. These are linkable to your account for support purposes.
3. Lawful Basis for Processing
Depending on your location (especially in the EU), we process your data based on several legal grounds:
- Performance of a Contract: To provide the quiz service and manage your account.
- Consent: When you provide your email address for optional updates.
- Legitimate Interests: For technical logging to ensure security and prevent fraud.
4. Data Retention Periods
We do not hold your personal data indefinitely. Our retention policy is as follows:
- Technical Logs: IP addresses and User-Agent logs are automatically deleted after 30 days.
- Account Data: Your profile and quiz history are kept until you request deletion, or after 1 year of total inactivity.
5. Data Sharing & Tracking
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. PERIOD.
No Tracking: We do not track you. We do not link your data with third-party data for advertising or share your identifiers with data brokers.
We only share data under the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: Partners who help us run the app (Firebase, Apple, infrastructure providers).
- Legal Requirements: If required by law to respond to a valid legal subpoena or during a company merger.
6. Third-Party Services
We partner with selected third-party services to enhance Qizie:
- Google Fonts: For premium typography.
- Firebase (FCM & Crashlytics): To power our notification system and collect crash diagnostics.
- Apple Sign In & StoreKit: To provide secure authentication and process in-app purchases.
- Google Gemini: Used offline by our team to generate the quiz and discovery content stored in our database. Your gameplay is not sent to Gemini at runtime.
No product-analytics SDKs. Qizie does not embed any first-party or third-party product-analytics SDK in the mobile app (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, PostHog, or equivalent). We do not collect screen-view, tap, or session events for product measurement.
7. International Data Transfers
Qizie is operated globally. Our primary servers are located in the European Union (Czech Republic). By using Qizie, you acknowledge that your information may be processed in the EU, where we apply standard contractual clauses and high-level encryption to protect your data.
8. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access & Deletion: View your profile or request full account removal via app settings. Upon request, data is marked for deletion and permanently purged from our servers after a 24-hour safety window.
- Rectification: The right to correct any inaccurate personal information.
- Portability: The right to request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Restriction/Objection: The right to object to certain types of data processing.
- Opt-out: Disable notifications via your device or app settings.
9. Policy Changes
We may update this policy occasionally. Every material change will be mentioned in our release news and sent via email to users who have provided one. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
